I’m a “Green” Bean

It’s nice to know my alter-egos care about the environment and do what they can to help out.

“The more paper that’s in there, the more we’ll pay out,” said Jason Bean, area manager of Abitibi-Consolidated’s recycling program.

Bean said the Paper Retriever program is in its 10th year, although it started in the Boston area - inside the Interstate 495 loop - in October 2005. Any school, church or nonprofit organization can sponsor a container at no cost. The paper collected in the large, steel, Dumpster-like containers will be recycled into news print. Bean said Abitibi-Consolidated is the world’s largest newspaper producer.
