If you've enjoyed what you've read, you can show your appreciation by buying me a cup of coffee.“The more paper that’s in there, the more we’ll pay out,” said Jason Bean, area manager of Abitibi-Consolidated’s recycling program.
Bean said the Paper Retriever program is in its 10th year, although it started in the Boston area - inside the Interstate 495 loop - in October 2005. Any school, church or nonprofit organization can sponsor a container at no cost. The paper collected in the large, steel, Dumpster-like containers will be recycled into news print. Bean said Abitibi-Consolidated is the world’s largest newspaper producer.
