Organization is not one of the items my wife considers one of her strengths. She will be the first to admit that. She is usually better at organizing when she sees other peoples’ ideas and items they use. When I told her about the opportunity we had to do a product review of Brother P-Touch labeler, I asked if she would be interested in trying it out and sharing her review of it.  Here’s how things have gone thus far in our experience.
In addition to the P-touch labeler, we were also provided with a gift card that we could use to put towards storage items. Â It was a great opportunity, but I will admit I was very intimidated. We decided to take a drive to our nearest IKEA a couple of hours away. Once we got back to the house with our spoils and I had the Brother P-Touch labeler in my hand, I started going crazy!
We are a homeschooling family, so for us to reorganize our school items seemed like the best thing to do with this task at hand. As you can imagine, I have accumulated an immense amount of books and when I started looking at my bookshelf and kept seeing everything out of order, leaning, and in a mess, I decided I would like to categorize them. So, I purchased magazine storage cases and labeled them with the different subjects we study in school through the week. Now, I have a clean and very organized bookshelf.
I have also found that my children have become much more organized since I purchased an organizational cabinet on wheels. This cabinet holds their school binders and items they use on a daily basis and our copy machine sits on it.  Each drawer of the cabinet is labeled for what should go into the drawer and what could be found inside. I especially love this cabinet because it has wheels on it and it can go anywhere in the house should we need it to.
For the bulk of our school items, I turned our coat closet into a storage closet for the rest of our curriculum and craft supplies. The children and I are no longer digging through file trays, binders, bins and drawers that are disorganized. Shelves are organized and labeled, and cabinets are identified to keep things coming back to the place that’s been set aside for each group of items when things get cleaned up after school.
I am very thankful for the opportunity to review the Brother P-Touch labeler, as it has definitely brought organization not only to our every school day, but has also spilled into other areas of our lives. Having places for everything and those places clearly labeled makes it easy for the kids to be quick and efficient when cleaning up and keeping things organized moving forward. Organization really is good for the soul.
So there you have it. The Brother P-Touch labeler has been great so far for us and our house. I’m always leary of products that claim to do this and that. For the most part, products don’t “DO” anything themselves. They don’t take away the necessity for us to actually have to take action on an item ourselves and get to work. The Brother P-Touch doesn’t DO anything for you, but it sure helps you stay focused and prompted to put things back where they go when you’re done using them.
