Daddy Can We Keep Her?

This is what the family brought home to me today. Let me start off by saying I am not a dog person. I'm not sure at what point I decided dogs weren't my preferred pet. We had a poodle, sheep dog, and a German shepherd that had puppies when I was growing up. I like cats and enjoy having our two rag dolls around the house. My preferred pets are aquarium fish. My wife hates fish and doesn't want an aquarium in the house. If I decide to let the family keep the dog, I believe I'll be setting up a 55-gallon aquarium with beta fish in the dining room.

The dog, Moxie, is a tiny little shih-tzu. It's a cute dog. Hasn't barked yet. Tiny in our house is a key feature. We had a weimaraner puppy when we first moved in for awhile. That didn't work out well, but Sage was a great dog.

My deal with the kids is that I would not be the one responsible for feeding, watering, walking or cleaning up poop on the carpet if necessary. But I suggest that they should contact a professional carpet steam cleaning service when the dog poop on the carpet. We will also need to look for a vet that provides dog care services.

Since I wasn't a dog person and don't foresee getting too attached to Moxie if we keep her, I would have no problems getting rid of her if they didn't uphold their end of the bargain.

We're keeping her for the weekend to see how it goes. How she mixes with the two cats and five hermit crabs. What do you think? Should I say yes or no?
