I was just introduced to a really interesting website called “I Choose Indy“. It’s a blog that was setup to allow real people, living in Indianapolis to share their feelings on this great city they live.
The site was started after one of the founders, Pat Coyle, was inspired by the book “Naked Convesations“, which talks about how blogs are changing the landscape of business and social circles of communication. Pat contacted Doug Karr, a colleague that knew a little bit about technology and the site was born.
Doug found my personal blog and encouraged me to share a post on the I Choose Indy site, which I just completed.
Their goal is to provide a great grass-roots resource for folks who might be interested in the region by showing why others chose Indy, in their own words. Submissions from regional business professionals and political leaders on why they chose Indianapolis are searchable and categorized by Industry.
I think this is a really great idea and more cities should setup this type of site to share a little about the city from the people that live there. Does anyone else know of other blog sites like this for other U.S. cities?
