I can’t remember now where I first heard about Mike Binn’s Computer Advice site, but it’s come in a handy a couple of times already when I was looking for an answer to a computer question. I used the site to help me find some information about figuring out and removing some startup items and dealing with a virtual memory issue on my system.
Welcome to my site. It is my hope that the steps in this site can bring your computer back up to speed. The site is designed to be easy to use, providing step by step instructions for you, the home user, to clean up your own computer.
Warning: Read the pages carefully and in order. DO NOT SKIM THROUGH the pages. If you don’t have time to do all the steps now, do a few and return later (use the Progress Checklist to remember where you left off). Do not rush through them and try to get them all done unless you have time to do them all properly. Failure to read the steps carefully will almost certainly result in either 1) Your frustration or 2) You missing a valuable snippet of information. ;)
This site contains a lot of specific instructions. It may seem overwhelming at first, but if you read the instructions carefully, and use the Progress Checklist in the top right of the screen, I can almost guarantee your computer will run much faster.
Mike Binn’s Computer Advice site also covers areas like: Firewalls, defragmenting, viruses, host files, and much-much-more.
