As you know, the b5media network is a large network and we really specialize in some niches that are sometimes forgotten and overlooked by other networks and portal websites. It’s for this reason that I wanted to specifically highlight a website that was developed by one of our own bloggers and her husband.
The site is called Babblz and it’s a place for mommy bloggers….well, they say it well on their own:Â
Babblz is the place to submit, vote and discover the best blog posts and articles written by mommy bloggers. Share with other Babblz users funny and inspirational stories from mommies all over the web!
As you can tell, it’s modeled after the Digg framework and features, but this site is purely focused on articles that are written by moms all over the world. I don’t think you’ll regularly find information like this on a place like Digg or Netscape or the other similar sites. Here’s what Kendra had to say about their reasoning for developing the site:
We started babblz.com as a social bookmarking site, much like digg, but for the parenting blog community. We had both used digg for our web design and diabetes blogs, but they do not offer the appropriate categories for my “mommy” blog, gagaforlulu.com. While visiting other parenting blogs, we took notice of how many had digg icons with 0 votes embedded in their posts, and the light bulb came on. We wanted to build a single place where fellow bloggers could come share and promote their stories, rants, gripes, and anything else that they feel like sharing.
If you’re a mom or interested in articles about family and other topics that impact moms and family, then this is the place for you to stay on top of the blogosphere for this great niche in the community.
