For anyone that may be reading this in the Indianapolis area, or knows someone who is, and are wondering how you can help even if you don't have any expendable money or items to donate, this could be your thing. The IBJ just reported that The American Red Cross call center located in Indianapolis is in need for additional volunteers to man their phones.
Red Cross needs more volunteers
The American Red Cross needs more volunteers to help answer phones at its national emergency call center in Indianapolis. Volunteers work four-hour shifts and are part of a 10-person response team, helping victims locate services being provided for them. To become a call center volunteer, call the Red Cross at 684-4307. Donations should be taken to the New Hope Ministries at 1205 E. New York St., not to the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Everybody do what you can. After months of looking for Kenworth W900 trucks for sale online, I'm still hoping to head down to the area with a semi-truck load of supplies next weekend. Let's hope everything can work out with my schedule.
