I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to figure out the value of importing various calendars in the iCal format, but now I can say I see the light.
I was recently playing around with my Outlook settings after starting to migrate everything to my laptop to be the new computer home base for my life. This was a migration away from the family desktop that gets shared with my wife and two kids who are spending more and more time on the computer.
Anyway, part of that was also related to playing around with Outlook calendars as I was synching them to my phone. I then saw the opportunity in Outlook 2007 to import and synchronize an iCal format into my other calendars display.
That led me to remembering to try my Google calendar which led me to look for other calendars that might be available and that led me to the iCalShare website. If you’re needing a calendar for something, there’s probably a close version of it on this website.
One of the key components that piqued my interest is all the TV related calendars that are available with episodes and special information. You just browse to the calendar you want, copy the path to the iCal file format and insert it into your Outlook. It really couldn’t get much easier.
Now if I could only figure out how to find more time to actually do everything that’s on my calendars.
Visit iCalShare and uncover what’s going on that interests you!
