With both of my kids now in grade school, I find myself helping them with homework pretty frequently. That’s good though because I was always a good student for the most part and like helping my kids learn.
I’ve got to be honest though, the way they teach math these days is NOT like I learned. Seems weird to me because 2+2 = 4 no matter how you got there right?
The Math Vids site takes the knowledge of a math teacher, merges it with online videos of hundreds of problems and solutions and uses that to help your kids (and you possibly!) learn some math.
MathVids.com benefits struggling students who need extra help, accelerated students with an interest in getting ahead, home-schooled students, and even collegiate math majors with nowhere to turn for help in high-level math classes. The videos also can be used by math teachers in the classroom as an alternative to high-priced educational videos. MathVids.com also helps provide math teachers, college students, or any other willing and able person with additional income for submitting videos to the MathVids.com collection, provided a MathVids.com certified math teacher approves them.
If you need a bit of a refresher to figure out what 7 × y + 5 × 5(n-4) is really going to work out to be, go visit Math Vids and get your learning groove on.
