I received an invitation from an extended member of my professional network. He sent me a link to join him on another network, XING – Global networking for professionals.
I recently heard of XING as I was reading the book "The Truth About Profiting from Social Networking" by Patrice-Anne Rutledge.
The first question that comes to my mind is "Do I need to join another professional networking site." After that question I began wondering if there was any real, specific reason to join this network. Does it give me something that I’m currently not getting from one of my other networks.
Around the world every day, over 6.5 million business professionals use XING the global business network in 16 languages to do business and promote their career. XING makes networking and professional contact management simple, with made-to-measure networking functions and services. Even more, XING allows you to see how people are connected, which is an excellent tool in generating new contacts of your own.
With features such as XING Marketplace, over 22,000 groups and networking events from London to Beijing, XING has developed from a contact platform to a web interface for business professionals around the world.
It seems that the strength of XING and what sets them apart from others is more of a global perspective. Which leads me to my last final question, do I really need it?
My last question then is will you use it or do you already? Let me know.
