I’m totally jonesing for an Amazon Kindle. Sadly it’s another example of where in my opinion a product is being sold for too much, when dropping the price would help them sell exponentially more product. All that aside, a friend of mine just sent me a request to join him at the Goodreads website so we can recommend great books to each other.
The Goodreads website let’s you add books to your bookshelf in categories of Currently Reading, Read or To Read. You can write reviews of the books you’ve read and see the reviews other people have written about all of those books you think you may like to read.
Goodreads is the largest social network for readers in the world. We have over 2,100,000 members who have added over 48,000,000 books to their shelves. A place for casual readers and bona-fide bookworms alike, Goodreads members recommend books, compare what they are reading, keep track of what they’ve read and would like to read, form book clubs and much more. Goodreads was launched in December 2006.
The website has a variety of widgets you can use to share the books on your shelves with visitors to your website or blog. I think one way they could really improve the widget though would be if you could add your Amazon affiliate code to the links provided for people to click on if they were interested in buying your book on Amazon.
