Why is that when a podcast is done playing, the menu will reverse all the way back to the Main directory? I want to be able to have the option to “Play All” podcasts sequentially or all episodes of a single podcast feed. Anyone know how I could do this, or agree it would be a great feature?

I know how to fix it…sell it on eBay and buy a real mp3 player.

I agree…that would be a good feature. I listen to a lot of podcasts…so I feel your pain!

Brian, a "real" MP3 player? What is it about an iPod that doesn't make it a "real" MP3 player? Is it just because it's an Apple product? I'm not a Apple zealot or anything, but they do make some great devices. I'd like to see what you would label as a "real" MP3 player, just so I can have a basis for your opinion.

Yes, an iPod does play MP3's so that makes it a "real" MP3, but if you're not after something chic there are better options out there for your money. But the majority of the population (that I've talked to anyway) automatically thinks that if they want to listen to "podcasts" or MP3's that they need an iPod, when you only need something that can play an MP3…which could also be a computer, a DVD player, a CD player, a HDD enclosure (these are really cool), a cell phone and probably a dozen other options. But I have to give it up to Apple for one of the best marketing campaigns ever for getting people to think that way (i.e. all tissues are called Kleenex).
Last year I got a Creative Zen Touch 20GB for $100 less than the iPod with similar specs and I have no complaints other than the battery isn't easy to replace whenever that time comes (I know Apple has had problems with this in the past as well). But that is only one of the numerous good, non-iPod portable MP3 player options available (check out <a>CNET for reviews).

That makes sense, and I am aware there are other MP3 players out there. I personally love Sony products, so I've been looking actively at them. But, the iPod is much more than a great marketing execution. They've developed a great product, my only problem is I wish it were more "Open" to work with other music sites than iTunes, more like Yahoo! Music Engine.
