How many jobs have you had in your life where the only benefit to you was the paycheck? You didn’t enjoy what you did, you weren’t motivated at all, and you had no investment in being there other than trying to pay the bills.
Do you believe that’s the norm and the reason they call it work?
I don’t believe that and feel that if you can find the right job for you, you’ll never “work” another day in your life. Now, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some seasons of life where you just have to buckle down and work the job that’s available until you find something else for you. I did that for over a year when I worked for Lowe’s Home Improvement in their Installed Sales department.
I can say now though that I’ve found a job I love and am challenged everyday by the tasks ahead of me and the opportunities to learn something new. Determining that blogging would be another opportunity for me also helped. All of these things were discovered for me by reading the book “48 Days: To the Work You Love” by Dan Miller.
