No, I’m not going anywhere. Just deciding it was time for me to cull the blog roll a little bit that I’ve been trying to maintain.
I’ve eliminated about 4 or 5 now, what’s irritating though is I wish there were someway to be notified of these blogs if they write something again that may interest me in the future. I’m sure I could setup some kind of custom search into an RSS feed, but if you were to ask me in 30 days what may interest me, I wouldn’t know then either.
Oh well, here’s looking at you kid. Regardless of what anyone else says, this has nothing to do with me losing 4 subscribers through my Feedburner stats in the past week either. I’m not quite that shallow.

Why don't you keep a second list of RSS feeds (using a feed aggregator of some kind, or setup a bloglines account or something) purely for the 2nd-grade blogs, then you can check it occasionally and see if anyone's posted anything but it won't fill up your blogroll.

Also you will have lost one of my subscriptions because my laptop died – so that's one less subscriber (until it's fixed)

Thanks for the suggestion RodeoClown. I actually have been using Bloglines for awhile now. Really enjoy that service. Even checking them with Bloglines takes time to scan through them. I guess I'm compulsive about it because I can't stand the thought of "unread" items.

I know EXACTLY how you feel.
I hate having items unread in my mail and RSS aggregator.
Some feed readers have an option to set certain channels as read on receiving them, I might actually try turning that on in mine.
