Celebrated my 31st birthday this weekend. Nothing major on the event calendar for the day. Stayed up into the wee hours of the morning (actually saw a little daylight before I went to bed) playing Halo 2. Slept for a little while and then spent a few hours helping a family in our small group who’s house was struck by lightening and caught fire. Everyone is safe thankfully, but major work will need to be done on the house. Amazing story of the events of that night, but one of the interesting things that happened is that the firemen who responded to the call took the time while fighting the fire to put tarps over their living room furniture and entertainment center. Took the time to take the kid’s toys and put them on the bed as well away from the walls closet to the fire. I thought that was pretty impressive.
Birthday dinner Saturday evening at P.F. Chang’s which was enjoyable. Actually had the left-overs for today’s lunch, so it was good two times around.
Big thanks to Jason & Kim and their Escape Adulthood website. Just downloaded their 2nd podcast and listened to it and they actually mentioned little old me! What a coincidence again that they released their 2nd podcast and mentioned me on my birthday even! What a present!!! Some interesting coincidences between the two of us. Both are married to “Kims”, both trying to escape adulthood, both have an interest in comics (I just read them, but he draws them) and other personal interests and likes as well. So, thanks again for the mention on the podcast. Be sure and visit their website or my main page for the latest comic!

Hey, P.F. Chang's! I discovered that delightful restaurant when I was at a Reggio Emilia conference in Portland. Best Chinese food I'd ever had.
There's more than one, right? Where's the one you went to?
(By the way, wonderfully touching story. Gosh, those fire fighter people are just so darned awesome.)
