It’s been over a year ago now that I first heard about the Brownbook website and at that point understand the power of what they were doing. Over the past 12+ months more people have been experiencing that power and understanding what the benefits are of having a very open and active business networking website.
When I first featured the site they hadn’t expanded to the United States. Now they’re active with listing in 240 countries with major coverage in USA, UK, Canada, Australia.
Brownbook.net is the free local business directory that anyone can edit. We’re building a global business directory and anyone can participate. You can add business listings, update them, and review businesses free and instantly. It’s an ambitious project and one that you can contribute to.
If you own a business you can claim your business listing and promote it in Brownbook.net with additional text, photos and videos, plus you get alerted any time someone reviews your business. Your listing in Brownbook.net helps your website’s ranking on the major search engines too, so you’ll get found more, not just in Brownbook.net but all over the web.
They’ve seen some quite significant growth since their official launch in May of last year. If you’ve got small business you probably can’t get a much easier way to list your business and various methods of contacting you than in Brownbook. UPS used to corner the market on “What’s Brown done for you?” Now, they might get a run for their money with Brownbook.
To get more information about Brownbook you can of course visit their website, mobile website, their blog, and on twitter.
