I was pleasantly surprised this evening to find two comments awaiting moderation for a blog post. It was an old post I’d written way back in March of this year highlighting some of my experience with a local car dealership, Ray Skillman Mitsubishi.
It seems the salesman I mentioned in my blog did a little Google search and found the post, then decided to respond and confirm the type of person he is. Here are his comments:
Call me so we can discuss the real facts of my personal involvement with your Eclipse deal. Stop in sometime and let also discuss the keys you dick
and about 20 minutes later he added:
Get a Life. Please remove my name from you fictional story. Many people have problems with money and can?t pay their bills. However I did not have anything to do with you paying your bills or the legal contract you entered into with Mitsu. You need to complain to Mitsu credit, they are the one that put the repo on your credit report. As for the keys, stop in and we can discuss them. Thanks Joe Nolan
I’m wondering if he doesn’t understand how blogs work. Does he care that he just called someone a “dick”? Did he not think it was going to show-up on the site? He calmed down a little bit with the second comment and used “please” to request I remove his name (after he called me a dick) from my post.
The post stays, the dealership name stays, and Mr. Joe Nolan’s name stays as well, especially now. Hopefully his actions again will keep him from making much more money as a car salesman in the future.
The only sad part for me is that I really liked my ’00 Mitsubishi Galant. I wanted to purchase it after my lease, but MMCA didn’t want to make a guaranteed sale with an interested buyer. The buyback option at the end of my lease was something like $8000 I believe. The KBB value on the car was only about $4500. They wouldn’t have made either of those amounts at the auction where most end-of-lease cars end-up. Didn’t make business sense to me on why they wouldn’t have gone with the guaranteed sale at current value.
Note: A Google search for “Ray Skillman Mitsubishi” currently lists my original post as the #5 result. I’m hoping more people see the post and it keeps them from purchasing a car from Ray Skillman, that was my original intent after I turned in my Galant at the end of it’s lease.
I’d love to hear from anyone else that has experience with Ray Skillman, good or bad. I’m fine with hearing both sides.
