This is a great video that a dad took of his son with a Flip video camera after a trip to the dentist to have a tooth removed. The little boys expressions and comments are absolutely classic! Totally hilarious!
Interesting Stuff - Random Thoughts and Resources I'd Like to Share
This is that category of stuff that may just not fit anywhere else. It will usually be interesting websites or other resources I may have come across. It could also be some random thoughts I have and want to "get down" on some virtual paper somewhere. Hopefully you'll find it interesting, it's definitely just a bunch of stuff!
Here's To The Crazy Ones
A friend recently shared this video with me. I remember when it first aired on TV for Apple and enjoyed it then. Always a good reminder to push the envelope and question the status quo.
How To Watch Movies on Online Legally
A lot of media that is available on the Internet is illegal. Torrent sites, file sharing sites, and the sites that allow user-generated content uploads.
There is nothing immediately wrong with user-generated content when it is entirely user-generated. Getting beautiful wallpapers from various sites and preparing a slideshow with them with a cool song in the background, cutting some scenes of movies, or splitting a complete movie as twelve or sixteen or eighteen or any number of parts,… while all these are available thanks to the meticulous hard work of users, they aren't exactly user-generated. A user needs permission from the actual copyright owners before he or she can proceed with modifying the content and marketing to people.
If copyright laws are a headache, online media copyright laws are a migraine and still in the nascent stage. To both the lawmakers and the interpreters who care to interpret them. That is the reason why people tend to ignore them, but it is better to be safe than sorry especially when dealing with the law.
That is the reason why often users who upload complete movies to YouTube end up getting banned and their videos are removed. Watching these movies is a punishable crime and may result in the need for legal assistance from a criminal defense attorney.
Hulu is that way a nice idea that has, I'm glad, achieved great success in a short time.
As far as I know, there is currently only one channel on YouTube which has full movies and it is legal to watch them. MGM Digital Media started that channel a couple of months ago and currently has 7 movies. The video pages also come with a "Turn down the lights" button which only some channels on YouTube have, making it pleasant for the eyes to watch. You can get the higher quality mp4s of the movies through keepvid.com.
Let us hope that MGM Digital Media continues uploading more movies and that other major studios follow.
