I’ve only owned two cars in my life, and I just purchased the 2nd one. It is a 1996 Toyota Camry and has almost 199,000 miles on it. It’s a baby Toyota. I’m expecting to put another 100,000 on it before I purchase my 3rd car.
One website I’ve been using now for awhile to maintain my automobiles is Microsoft’s MSN Autos page, specifically their “My Car” features. You can input your car’s year, make, model, mileage and VIN and the site will help keep you updated on the maintenance that should take place on your car. The site will also inform you of any active recalls on your vehicle as they’re issued by the NHTSA. The also site links into the Kelley Blue Book site to give you estimates on your car’s value.
Another great feature is the Repair Cost Estimator. Just select the type of work you’re needing done and you’ll be given a brief description of the work to be done and estimates for parts and labor. If you’d like to adjust even more specifically, you can change the average labor rate used in their estimates for work.
Put in your zip code and get real time gas prices and locations in your area for your next fill up as well as getting up-to-the-minute traffic alerts and driving directions.
This is really a great, free resource for you, so be sure and visit the MSN Autos page and see for yourself.
