Your senses are pretty sharp (okay, most of the time) And it takes something big to distract you! |
This is that category of stuff that may just not fit anywhere else. It will usually be interesting websites or other resources I may have come across. It could also be some random thoughts I have and want to "get down" on some virtual paper somewhere. Hopefully you'll find it interesting, it's definitely just a bunch of stuff!

According to this article a traffic officer in Sydney, Australia wrote out a parking ticket and placed it on the car while there was a dead man inside at the wheel that had been missing for 9 days.
“Our local laws officer checked and wrote out the ticket at the rear of the vehicle and placed the ticket from the passenger side on the windscreen,” Denham said in a statement. “The local laws officer did not notice anything unusual regarding the vehicle, and is extremely distressed to have learned of the situation.”
It’s a good thing this person is upset, it would definitely be more disconcerting if the quote was something like, “Hey, I’m just doing my job and that doesn’t include checking the car for dead bodies.”

I’m getting weary of hearing about people complain about this.
Mark Cuban of the Dallas Mavericks has some interesting viewpoints on it on his blog:
Other people in today’s news articles include:
Some of Steven Jackson’s comments I do admire though, specifically this one:
“You have to listen to the people who employ you,” he said. “The people who are paying us make the rules. You need to abide by the rules or don’t work. I want to work.”
See folks, it is possible to disagree with something but understand you still need to do what you don’t want to sometimes. Trying to teach my kids that right now.
