Spent all day Saturday working on a DVD presentation of my recent trip to the Mississippi Gulf Coast that was supposed to be shared at church on Sunday morning.
I wrapped up the project around 2:00am Sunday morning then started to export the file to DVD. If you’ve ever done video editing on a computer, you know the rendering part usually takes quite awhile. Well, after numerous attempts, my computer just kept erroring out before it got done. After literally staying up all night, it still didn’t get done and so the presentation didn’t take place as planned at church. I’m was pretty bummed, but mostly for the rest of our team because they were looking forward to it all being shared with the church community.
The only upside to staying up all night was that in the downtime while the computer was processing, I spent playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live. Man that game is so addictive. I actually got some of my experience points back too, I’m up to an 18 now. I was a 24 but dropped down to 14 after a slurry of getting stuck on teams with quitters in the middle of the game. Man I hate that! Xbox should immediately penalize someone who quits mid-game with an immediate one point reduction on their experience score.
Found out today that my brother-in-law is pursuing working part-time at UPS. He said their healthcare is 100% funded and that makes me 100% interested! We found out this month that our health insurance for our group plan at work was going up $112/mnth to $410/mnth for my family. So, even if UPS didn’t pay me a dime to work, I’d be making $450+/mnth just in savings of healthcare costs. So, 17.5 – 20 hours a week seems like a pretty good deal to me. By the value of the insurance and the normal hourly rate, it will equate to me making about $30/hr to work there. Worth a little lack of sleep or adjustment in sleep patterns.
The graphic above has no relation to this post, other than it’s a cool graphic. Feedburner says I lost another reader. Man! I’m too obsessed about that I guess.
