Lot’s of discussion today about potential developments in the Google kingdom of a communication service.
Rumors are it could be a VoIP solution and/or a chat solution. I’m excited about either one of these options. See, I’ve become a huge fan of Google’s developments. I LOVE GMAIL, and Google Maps, and Picasa (need to use it more and get my bulging image files under control). Also, Google has recently been working on an open wi-fi network in San Francisco. Imagine that! Google offering free wi-fi to anyone nationwide, with obvious tie ins to location based advertising and assistance through their mapping functionality.
I’m also a current subscriber to Comcast’s digital phone service and also a user of Cerulean Studios chat client, Trillian.
So, I say bring on the Google VoIP/chat client. Rumors are the website https://talk.google.com was up, but it directs me to a page not found when I visited it.
