Okay, read a story today that our local establishment of Democrats in the state of Indiana have decided to not show up for work
“stalling” so they don’t have to pass bills and laws that I guess they don’t agree with. That to me is just amazing. You can read more about it here
Hmmm, an NBA player can decide not to show up and get fined thousands of dollars for not supporting his team. If I decide not to show up for work, I get fired. Why in the halibut can our politicians get away with this crap? I’m actually going to submit a comment to our local newspaper complaining about that!
Interesting Stuff - Random Thoughts and Resources I'd Like to Share
This is that category of stuff that may just not fit anywhere else. It will usually be interesting websites or other resources I may have come across. It could also be some random thoughts I have and want to "get down" on some virtual paper somewhere. Hopefully you'll find it interesting, it's definitely just a bunch of stuff!

Just thought I’d recommend a nice little tool I’ve stumbled upon recently. It’s called Bloglines (www.bloglines.com) and it is absolutely the best tool I’ve found for staying up-to-date on all your favorite blogs. My favorite part, which may be the not-so-favorite part to others, is that it’s a website. I wanted something I could keep tabs on everything from any computer I may be surfing from.
So, enjoy, hopefully you’ll like it as much as I do.
Dumb down. Think less!
Those are my catch phrases related to my new employment situation. From the surface, they may be taken as a slam against my current employer. That is furthest from the truth. I think it’s more a symptom of someone that is over-qualified still getting the job. I’m sure all of us have experienced or heard the “you’re overqualified” when applying for a position.
I don’t say this to toot my own horn, but I’ve entered into an entry level position that is below my skill level, but still frustrating the living fire out of me. My main problem is that I’m “over-thinking” about everything. My immediate job task is to process our “product” very quickly for our clients. Take basic qualifications and requirements, make sure they fit, and get them through. SIMPLE!
Unless, you’re like me and continue to focus on everything that could be done better, flawed processes, room for improvement, etc. That’s not what I’m being paid to think about. At this point it’s seemingly impossible for me to accomplish. The analogy is we’re McDonalds’, (minus the general perceptions of low quality food and atmosphere), focus more on the “billions served”. I’m stuck in getting the cheese on the hamburger precisely and figuring out why every 5th batch of fries is overcooked!
FOCUS PINKY! FOCUS….need patience and persistence to hang-in until a pay-off, hopefully soon. And in the meantime, bills not paid, life beckons, frustration mounts!
