Those are my catch phrases related to my new employment situation. From the surface, they may be taken as a slam against my current employer. That is furthest from the truth. I think it’s more a symptom of someone that is over-qualified still getting the job. I’m sure all of us have experienced or heard the “you’re overqualified” when applying for a position.
I don’t say this to toot my own horn, but I’ve entered into an entry level position that is below my skill level, but still frustrating the living fire out of me. My main problem is that I’m “over-thinking” about everything. My immediate job task is to process our “product” very quickly for our clients. Take basic qualifications and requirements, make sure they fit, and get them through. SIMPLE!
Unless, you’re like me and continue to focus on everything that could be done better, flawed processes, room for improvement, etc. That’s not what I’m being paid to think about. At this point it’s seemingly impossible for me to accomplish. The analogy is we’re McDonalds’, (minus the general perceptions of low quality food and atmosphere), focus more on the “billions served”. I’m stuck in getting the cheese on the hamburger precisely and figuring out why every 5th batch of fries is overcooked!
FOCUS PINKY! FOCUS….need patience and persistence to hang-in until a pay-off, hopefully soon. And in the meantime, bills not paid, life beckons, frustration mounts!

I understand your frustration. There must be a Quality Control gene in us somewhere! That's one of the things I'm excited about entering management. And I may be in for a slap in the reality face, but in every job I've ever had I struggle with inefficiency and my ultra-awareness of it.
