I’m a huge Pandora fan and when I find something I like and that works well for me, it’s a bit of a challenge to get me to try something new. With the blanket of snow falling today, I could stay in today and focus on work.
After I commented about firing up Pandora and getting to work, a friend recommended I try out Grooveshark as well. I’ve got to say I’ve been fairly happy with my experience as I’ve been listening to some great music all day supplied by Grooveshark.
Grooveshark is different from Pandora in that I can select a single artist and listen to songs by just that artist. I can select by album or create custom playlists as well. Similar to Pandora, Grooveshark also has a "Radio" option which provides a continuous stream of music based on the artist you’re listening to and the recommendations and ratings you provide.
I don’t know how they can get away with playing so much specifically asked for music by an artist, but I haven’t been interrupted all day and have enjoyed it.
If you need some good tunes to keep you moving and motivated while you’re at your computer all day, skipping putting a nickel in the jukebox and just uncover some great music at Grooveshark.
Another friend recommended another music streaming site called Slacker, look for a review on that site coming soon.
