I’ve been a fish geek since I was a little boy. Every since I snuck a peak at a Christmas gift one year that was a 3.5 gallon aquarium. My mom found out I peaked and to keep things a surprise she gave that tank to my older brother and I ended up getting a 10-gallon tank instead.
Therefore, it was with a bit of heightened interest as I read this article about a giant sea worm ravaging a coral reef enclosure and exhibit.
Matt Slater, the aquarium’s curator, said: ‘Something was guzzling our reef but we had no idea what, we also found an injured Tang Fish so we laid traps but they got ripped apart in the night.
‘That worm must have obliterated the traps. The bait was full of hooks which he must have just digested.’
I couldn’t grab a picture of the giant sea worm, Barry, and share on this site, but if you go visit the site where the article is hosted you can get a good picture of Barry.
