I’ve been a huge fan Google Maps and Google Local ever since it came out and has been available on the Internet.
Yesterday though I was checking out the location of a house that a friend of mine is putting a bid in on to purchase because I was certain it was fairly close to my own house.
After popping the address into Google Maps I noticed a new feature available to see the location at “Street View”. This viewpoint is amazing! I can’t believe how clear and current these images are on the site. To the point I was thinking to myself “Okay, when was the vehicle in my neighborhood and what did it look like?”
At least Google is putting some of that advertising revenue to really good use. What a great little feature. I can’t even comprehend the logistics of capturing and organizing all of the imagery data it takes to deliver this type of functionality to users.
Another really impressive component of the feature is that I can drag the little “person” anywhere on the blue direction route in my map to see a street level at that location?
