I had a scare recently with a gall bladder attack or passing a stone. A week later I finally got my family doctor to get an appointment scheduled with me and review some things. My doctor requested that I do some modifications to my lifestyle to stop my ever increasing weight, and even try to lose some. It’s nothing major at this point, just a pattern that’s been occuring over the past 5 years and he wants to put an end to it.
He said it wouldn’t take much, I probably only needed to reduce about 100-250 calories a day from my diet and be a little more active.
So, I did some searching and found the HealthStatus website, that has “Personalized health information, just for you”. Of particular interest to me were some of their calculators available, specifically the Calories Burned Estimator. You just put in your weight and the amount of minutes you spend at each activity listed and it will tell you an estimate of the number of calories you’re able to burn participating in that activity.
There’s lots of other great information available on the HealthStatus site as well, so be sure to surf on over.
