Douglas Karr recently found this blog and let me know about another blog entitled “I Choose Indy”. He encouraged me to post an article there, which I’ve just completed here. Here’s a little bit about the site:
While reading Naked Conversations (how blogs are changing the way businesses talk with customers), Pat Coyle was inspired to put the concepts to use with I Choose Indy. Recent articles in the Indianapolis Business Journal spoke to the ongoing efforts by regional leaders to market Indianapolis to the world with a cool logo and perhaps a nifty slogan. Rather than do this, why not have business professionals and political leaders in the region speak to why they live in or moved to Indianapolis? We?re proud of our city and our place in the mid-west, and there are too many reasons to choose Indy that simply can not fit into a catchy tagline.
This is a great idea! More cities should do this, or city based magazines, like Indianapolis Monthly, should make it more known and really promote it as a resource for finding out what a city is really like from the people that live there.
