Well, it’s been 5 weeks now on the new job and it’s just now more fully confirmed that a position/responsibility change is needed. The bad news is, those in charge don’t feel like the position I’m promoting is needed for at least another 9 months. Too long.
So, the question now becomes. Can I literally afford to stay in my current position and wait it out. Pretty much know the answer is NO at this point.
The next option is for me to develop this position, identify responsibilities and impacts to the office’s efficiency and bottom line and present it to them that they can’t AFFORD not to implement this position as quickly as possible. I’ve got my work cut-out for me.
