Just read this article on Yahoo! news about a 4-star general that was relieved of his command for disobeying a direct order to avoid contact with a woman he was having an affair. Now I can't imagine that adultery is that uncommon in the military, but I guess it's a little more frowned upon by your upper echelon of command. The article went on to say:
Military rules prohibit a married or separated service member from having a sexual relationship with anyone other than the spouse until a divorce is final. They can settle their relationship through divorce attorneys before engaging in a new relationship.
This seems really impressive to me that this would be a policy for the Armed Services. I mean, it's okay for the president "Commander in Chief" of all the Armed Forces to have extra-marital affairs but not for his subordinates. I mean what goes on behind closed doors is supposedly nobody's business right? Now I disagree with that for the obvious reasons that if I'm molesting kids, making Jeffery Dahmer stew or tearing the tags off my mattresses, it obviously affects more people than myself.
Anyone else find this interesting? What's your take on this? I'm all for divorce before engaging in other sexual relationship, specially now that you can divorce without lawyers assistance, but it should be fair for everyone not just someone who's serving in the military.
So those who are planning to file for divorce should consider hiring experienced divorce lawyers. A professional divorce lawyer can help advocate for your rights and interests.
