A friend of mine just sent me an email about this organization he’s involved in that helps other organizations with adoptions. Looks like a great organization so I wanted to highlight it here for anyone looking at adoptions or helping orphans in any way.
Here’s a little bit from my friends e-mail:
I wanted to write and let you know about a new ministry that we recently started to help orphaned children. After our experience in adopting a child recently, we felt that we needed to reach out and provide hope and practical help for all of the orphans that would never be adopted, who may live in an orphanage throughout their childhood, or even worse, have to completely provide for themselves in the streets or the countryside.
SeventyTwo is an enabling ministry that allows churches and organizations to work with orphans. Just as Jesus sent the seventy-two disciples to all of the towns and areas where he was soon headed, we believe that we are also sent and are sending others to help these children.
Currently, we are working in China and Swaziland. In China, we are helping 40 children in four homes and the local government has asked us to help open new homes all around the province where hundreds more children from the poverty-stricken countryside are orphaned and need care. In Swaziland, we are funding and helping local Christian churches start micro-businesses that will pay the expenses that the families from the church incur as they bring the children whose parents have died from AIDS into their homes.
We are looking for help for these orphaned children! You can see more details about SeventyTwo by visiting our website at https://www.seventytwo.org. Be sure and watch the introductory presentation, see the details about the China and Swaziland programs, and finally, check out the partners page. Also, we would really appreciate it if you would consider making a donation to help fund the programs where we are working.
Check them out if you’re interested in adoption or helping orphans in any way.
