For this post I’ve uncovered some fraudulent internet advertising schemes! Buyer Searchers beware!!!
I realize it’s just how advertising is done nowadays, but stuff like the above just drives me nuts.
As you can see, I’m searching for “kids plastic painting smocks”. My daughter needs one because she’s starting kindergarten tomorrow and it’s on the list. I thought I could just let her use an old, button-up shirt of mine, but “NO, it’s gotta be a plastic one”. Of course her Disney rain poncho from last year won’t work even though it was only $5 and would do in a pinch.
There you go, right there in the paid placement location is a link labeled “Plastic Smock”, that takes me to Target.com where I would expect to find a plastic smock type of thing available for purchase.
Nope, I get the following…
“We’re sorry, but your search for “plastic_smock” returned 0 product results.”
Then don’t use a stinkin’ keyword as your search term for your advertising hits that you don’t stock in your store.
If they’d actually had a plastic smock, then I’d have loved that little bit of technology, but instead I’ve been bamboozled. I love Target, but I love them significantly less for doing that crap!
