Stumbled across a new website today called “The Gorb” as I was reading some e-mail newsletters.
A group of people that believe that most people are good and that it is okay not to be perfect.
We believe that part of life is to learn about ourselves, this information is important and getting it is not easy. When we ask others to give us feedback they are always measuring the consequences of what they divulge. Whether its admiration or not. The collective opinion of our community becomes our reputation. We allow this information to be posted anonymously. The innovation we include is that the approval or rejection of the comments you make gets placed in your profile, without revealing what you said. So you have anonymity with a degree of accountability.
We also think that part of life is to help others become better, and that this is getting harder and harder to do. People are not open to commentary from others. If is positive they are embarrassed, if it is negative they shoot the messenger.
TheGORB allows anybody to provide anonymous feedback. This feedback is moderated by the actual community surrounding each of us. So be calm, relax in TheGORB it is ok not to be perfect.
This seems like a really interesting concept and reminds me to a degree of some of the topics I’ve mentioned during my time blogging at Emerging Earth. It’s this idea of making the web a little less anonymous feeling and helping online users built a mirrored reputation of themselves that’s valid and valued in the online world.
