Collective Soul is easily one of my favorite rock groups that I can think of enjoying for so long. They’ve always had great music, but have never really had the huge media fame and larger-than-life persona that other groups have had… and I like it that way.
Their major hits like "December", "Gel", "Shine" and "The World I Know" were popular during my college years. However, it wasn’t until I stumbled across their live concert recording for "Home" with the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra that I really gained a huge love for their music. That CD and DVD is absolutely the BEST ever!
Collective Soul has now released their 2nd album since "Home" and they continue to deliver meaningful and rocking music with each release. The hit "Staring Down" has already been receiving lots of airplay and is sure to be another time-tested hit from the band.
I’ve had the opportunity to see the group in concert twice and they put on a great show. After both concerts I felt so energized and enthusiastic it was almost euphoric. I get the same feeling almost any time I listen to their music.
Collective Soul will continue to be among the groups I will support buy purchasing their albums and going to concerts whenever possible.
