I’m starting to get an error again like I got before related to the use of my Maxtor 320GB external hard drive. I believe this time that the issue is more related to my new usage of the Windows Hibernate option on a regular basis instead of powering down.
When I put my computer into Hibernate mode I have my external drive connected to the machine. I’ll then pack everything up and head off to the next client. I take my laptop out my bag first and it begins powering-up. As soon as it resumes from Hibernate I get the messages shown above.
I need to check and see if I don’t get that message if I plug-in the drive first and then open the lid to resume from Hibernate.
What I think would be great in functionality though is to have the system remember the devices that were plugged-in and put them in a temporary status. The operating system would know the device was present and then wait for it to be reconnected before displaying an error message.
