This may come as a shock to many of you that know me, but I say “Go Ahead”. I guess I’m acting like the quasi-liberal Christian I am. I believe the Christian community and churches are doing far more harm fighting this battle than the results of letting gays marry will have. I believe fighting this battle is only pushing more of a wedge between us and the chance of ever being an effective witness to the gay community. As bad as it may sound, there are probably far more dysfunctional “Christian” families, than there will be gay marriages. Let’s work on straightening up our own lives, accepting that we’re sometimes as broken and hurt as those we’re trying to minister to. I believe as a whole, we’ve completely failed to be an effective witness to the homosexual community, and as I’ve already stated, continuing to fight battles like this is only pushing them further away from Christ. I believe sometimes we turn into Jonah, and just want God to smite those we identify as evil instead of obeying God and sharing the message of God’s love, and instead serving His judgement like it’s our own responsibility.
Interesting Stuff - Random Thoughts and Resources I'd Like to Share
This is that category of stuff that may just not fit anywhere else. It will usually be interesting websites or other resources I may have come across. It could also be some random thoughts I have and want to "get down" on some virtual paper somewhere. Hopefully you'll find it interesting, it's definitely just a bunch of stuff!
Overwhelmed w/ “Disposable”
Granted, I’d never give up disposable diapers for those cloth suckers you shake out in the toilet and throw in the washing machine on a daily basis, but what’s the deal with disposable nowadays? Guess it’s not even so much as something truly disposable, like a diaper or razor, but more the attitude of, “I’ll just go buy another one.”
Just read an article on Ask Yahoo! about cleaning your keyboard. They gave you all the tips and information you need for getting the job done. Didn’t seem like a very significant or time-consuming task to do at least a better than average job at completing the task. But the last sentence stated, you can just go buy a new one for $20. After reading that sentence I bet at least 50% of people either decide not to worry about cleaning their keyboard, or decide “Yeah, toss this one and just get a new one anyway”. Amazing to me, I have my lazy moments, but in today’s financially stressed times, this just seems like an attitude that will help the populace take better care of what we do have, attempt to fix things that are broken before throwing them away, and appreciate the value of what we desire to throw away, however miniscule it may be.
LAUNCHcast, It’s Great!
Some of you may have noticed the link to this site over there on the left already. I highly recommend this site to anyone that enjoys listening to music while working on the computer. At least I do if you have a constant internet connection.
The ability to quickly change to various stations for different moods and to build your own station with preferences for songs, artists and albums is great. One of the best things too is that sometimes songs are played to recommend to you based on your ratings for other songs. This has been how I’ve heard of three great artists/groups: News at Eleven, Michael Buble and Jonatha Brooke.
