Haven’t you ever wondered why you can’t completely control your mobile phone or other mobile device while it’s connected to your computer? I’ve always thought I should be able to open a window on my computer and see the screen of my mobile phone as it appears on my device.
I’ve always wanted to be able to open a window and use my mouse to act as the stylus pointer on my device. I’ve wanted to somehow open up my phone and make a phone call from my phone and hear the call through my speakers and microphone. Having a Logitech headset would allow me to make phone calls through my cell phone as easily as I do through Skype. The other big functional advantage would to allow the user to send SMS messages through their unlimited cell plans and manage them from their phone, but respond and reply through the ease of their full-size keyboard.
It looks like the answer may be here with Universal Mobile Solutions and their PDA Controller software.
PDA Controller lets you type comfortably from your desktop PC or laptop in two ways. First you can zoom the screen to twice it’s original size, secondly you can use the desktop keyboard so that you can type in quickly. This way you send off those quick e-mails or SMS messages without the annoyance of having to tap each letter at a time while squinting at the screen!
Yep, that sums it up for me. Sounds like exactly what I’ve been looking for in the solution. The other nice advantage is that the software works with a variety of devices, so if you change yours, you don’t have to worry about purchasing a different version of the software or adding a new feature just for your phone.
