Two days in a row folks!
Picked-up my copy of Halo 2 today. Can already tell I’m going to enjoy this one just as much as the first one. Graphics are great, more intense gameplay and more complex options. I’m sure everything will live up to the hype.
Downloaded an RSS feed aggregator, Sharp Reader (thanks Matt!). Definitely speeds up the task of staying updated on my favorite blogs. It occurs to me though, with RSS feed, isn’t it basically the same thing as subscribing to a newsgroup? Are newsgroups just “out” and RSS feeds “in”? Not complaining, just refreshes the thought of “everything old is new again”.
After posting to my blog yesterday for the first time in awhile, I have received no less than 50 “comments” that are no more than a SPAM message! Very irritating, looked through my settings and setup some spam traps for comment postings. Let’s hope they all work. Bill, Chris & Matt, do you all have this same problem?

I haven't gotten any SPAMish comments on the blog like that. I definitely feel "out of it" though not having picked up my copy of Halo2 yet. I put it on my Xmas list!

(REAL COMMENTER, HERE!)
I only get about 2 or three NEW spam comments each week. I quickly add as much info as possible (not just email address and links) to my spam-filter (which is run by my system administrator so ALL the blogs on the server share and quickly build big list). We are gradually moving everybody over to a "moderated" system where new comments won't show until approved by the blog admin/author. Otherwise: it's a big game of staying ahead of the spam-hounds.
