Last night I was doing a little bit of DVR catch-up as I was working on some other projects. One of the shows I’d been recording but hadn’t seen yet was Christian Slater’s new series titled “The Forgotten”.
The overall gist of the show is very similar to the show “Without a Trace”. Still not sure what I thought about the show, but each show they would highlight the NamUs website, which is the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System. It’s a sort of clearing house for open cases and information regarding missing people.
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) is a clearinghouse for missing persons and unidentified decedent records. NamUs is a free online system that can be searched by medical examiners, coroners, law enforcement officials and the general public to solve these cases.
It can be a little morbid to think about, but I can’t imagine not having the closure of knowing one way or another where you loved one is in this world. The NamUs website allows you to help find missing persons and unidentified individuals who have already been killed.
