What are you doing New Years? New Year’s Eve? Those are the lines from a classic holidays song, but when they wrote it, they never thought of the answer being to celebrate it from the comfort of my couch watching what’s happening in New York City from my computer.
If you haven’t decided what you’re doing and are kind of leaning on being unsocial in the real world, but still be connected virtually, then have we uncovered the deal for you.
The Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment have partnered with Livestream for the first time to offer a new, international six and a half hour web event. From 5:50pm ET December 31 to 12:20am ET January 1, four co-hosts will cover all of the action in Times Square, including the hourly countdowns, ball raising ceremony, stage performances and special guests. The program will stream live at TimesSquareNYC.org and Livestream.com/2010.
Sounds pretty good right? Keep the computer up and running while you’re relaxing with a few close friends playing Rock Band and some other fun games? Sounds like a plan to me.
