Windows XP Still An Option After Windows 7?

You don’t like Vista? Still happy with Windows XP and wish things had never changed? A bit uncertain on whether or not Windows 7 will be the answer to all of your problems? You’ve heard it all before right? But if you upgrade or purchase a new computer with Windows 7 what if you don’t like it? What will be your options then? According to this article on Slashdot you might still be able to downgrade to Windows XP.

What will you do? From what I can tell so far I’ll probably upgrade happily to Windows 7 if I don’t upgrade to Vista between now and then. Just about the only reason I haven’t upgraded to Vista is because I don’t want to do any completely unnecessary changes to my laptop for whatever reason. It’s my production computer and if I lose it, I’m in a deep world of hurt. I’m hoping for a new laptop with Windows 7 installed as a much needed computer upgrade period.

Does this make things different for you? Will you upgrade without much thought if you know you can downgrade back to Windows XP if you don’t like Windows 7? Will you try and skip Windows 7 completely because of all the hubbub and hoopla that’s gone on with Vista?

Digg Adds New DiggBar Functionality

Digg.com has had its share of media exposure both good and bad. I’ve never been a huge Digg.com user, but will Digg pages that I find interesting and I think about it. I’ll regularly Digg stories from friends as well, but not blindly, only after I’ve read them and I think they’re worth Digging as well. That little process has been a bit clunky in my opinion, but Digg.com has made a change/addition that will make it a little easier.

You can click on the image above to see the full-version and notice the new Digg bar that they released that makes it easier to Digg articles that you’re reading and spread them to other social networks as well.

My challenge is that when I see the article on Digg, I click on link to the article to read it outside of Digg before I decide to Digg it again. Now, with the Digg bar, it nicely appears at the top of the original page and let’s you see lots of details about it. I can Digg it, post it to my twitter or Facebook account, or email it to anyone else I may want to share it with. All very nice and useful. If you don’t like it appearing, you can just click the close “X” on the far right and be done.

Perfect implementation. Perhaps even better is it’s not a new toolbar or something else you need to install. It just appears when you click on an article that’s already been Dugg. Nice and clean. Almost self-explanatory. Perfect.

NumberKey iPhone App from Balmuda

iPhone's open development opportunities that allow others to create applications is in my opinion the single feature that puts it above other normal cell phones. Having Internet, touch-screen and other cool features aren't that impressive to me, but the sheer volume of new apps that are developed are impressive.

I'm not sure why, but I've always wanted to teach myself or learn how to use a 10-key keypad quickly. Again, not exactly sure how it would immediately benefit me at this time, but I've always thought it would be helpful at some point.

Balmuda has developed the NumberKey iPhone app that extends your keyboard's functionality and provides a 10-key entering number pad using the iPhone touch screen's interface to make the input physics as close to the real thing as you could probably get without having to actually carry around a 10-key numberpad with USB cord in your bag. If you have an old phone lying around, you can sell it at Buyback Boss.

Pretty cool for sure.
