Seth Godin blogged about this little site on his blog that I read this morning (I read it every morning, but that’s another story).
The site is called Kiva and it’s a personal lending site where I can lend money to people in other countries that will help them, just like if I was getting a loan. Seth Godin calls this “world wealth transfer”.
I think it’s a great little idea and I posted about something similar to this earlier. The problem though that Seth states and I agree with is, we Americans aren’t that good at our own lending practices, or at least taking advantage of them. Anyone else but me have a butt load of credit card debt shackled to us like a ball and chain? Anyone else see giant high-rise buildings for the various banks out there and say to outloud, “You’re welcome.”
