With the chilly weather descending upon Indianapolis this week, I'm really starting to miss this place more and more.

There’s a company that’s been around so long that anyone reading this hasn’t known of a world without their products. That company is Johnson & Johnson and their name has become almost synonymous with keeping us clean, healthy and feeling good.
I recently received a “Healthy Essentials” shipment from Johnson & Johnson of products to both bring back memories of my childhood as well as some new items to begin using as I extend my stay on this earth a little longer. Look for savings coupons and offers in your Sunday paper, or you can visit the Healthy Essentials website yourself to register for free savings offers of up to $190 on the following products.
I’m not sure about your household, but ours is almost always looking for ways to save money on purchases. When I can find coupons for items we need I use them. When those coupons and savings are for the items I’m already using like these, it’s even better.

Right before receiving my shipment of products to try, my wife was just asking if I’d seen her bottle of Aveeno hand lotion. I was thinking she’d already used it all, so when I handed her a brand new bottle she was very thankful to have more and combat the dry skin from the winter months. I wasn’t familiar with the Neutrogena Hand Cream Norwegian Formula, but what I found out is that I really like it because it doesn’t leave my hands feeling slippery and it has a fairly scentless smell after you use it. And, we handed the the Baby Lotion to my daughter to use and have for her own in her room.
Just yesterday I was cleaning the kitchen and doing dishes when one of our stemware glasses broke in my hand and sliced my finger open. I’m glad I had some Band-Aids available, and the were the best you can buy, the fabric banded versions. Those things stay on and tight through showers and hand-washings throughout the day.
I’ve been using Splenda for a number of years now and it’s single-handedly reduced my calorie intake significantly just because of my coffee habit. I normally drink 4-6 cups of coffee a day and I would put 5 packs of sugar in each cup. Just in coffee alone, Splenda has helped me reduce my daily calories by about 1000 and the coffee still tastes great without a fake sweet taste like other sweeteners.
I should have gotten this post up a lot sooner because Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies has partnered with FEEDING AMERICAÂ â„¢. For every coupon redeemed between January 8 – 15, they would donate one meal to FEEDING AMERICA. So, today’s the 15th, you’ve still got time, go grab some coupons and make a quick run to the store.
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Dad Central Consulting on behalf of Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies and received products to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
Review: Targus Truss Case and Stand for Kindle Fire
I’ve had my Kindle Fire now for a couple of months and am still very happy with the device and all the things it can do for me. Shortly after getting the Kindle Fire, I was looking for a good case to use with it and Targus contacted me about trying out their Targus Truss Case and Stand. This is my review.
I’ve been a fan of Targus products since I purchased my first power replacement cord for a laptop years ago. They’ve always done a great job of taking care of me as a customer, when things go well and if I’ve ever needed additional tech or customer support. I’ve always thought of them for power and other travel related products, but hadn’t had any experience with their cases for any devices, so I was excited to get my hands on their case for the Kindle Fire.
My first thought after receiving the case was that it was made from quality materials. It’s got a sturdy, leather exterior and a soft, terry-cloth like inside cover. The Kindle slides into the case, with some effort. It doesn’t feel like the Kindle Fire quite fits into the case as easily as it should, or the lip of the holder is too firm and tight to really have it slide into easily. Once the Fire is in the case, everything seems to fit okay, it may bulge slightly when completely closed as you can see in the photos.
I do like how the case folds to create a self-contained stand. I’m not sure how they’d do it, but it would be nice if it could also fold or serve as a stand while in the landscape position for watching videos and movies.
Everything on the case is straight-forward and well-constructed. I just think that for me it’s not the right case for what I’m looking for with the device. It’s kind of between the size I’d like. I either want a very slim case, almost a snap-on back cover that has a thin flap that covers the screen as needed.
If I didn’t go ultra-thin and small, then I think I’d like a case that was somewhat like a smaller portfolio notebook. Something where the Kindle could be on one side and then a small steno sized notebook could fit on the other with a pen holder.
For more details and other photos, you can visit the Targus website for the Targus Truss Case and Stand.
UPDATE: I just found out that Targus has released two new cases for the Kindle Fire. One is a portfolio and the other is a Case /Stand. Check them out on their website and you can also pick one up at your local BestBuy store.
