The Benefits of Spending a Weekend Outside

Tent w/ a View

Physical activity is endemic to human nature, but modern life has twisted our habits and resulted in many not getting the exercise they need. On average, 90% of a human's life in the developed world is spent indoors – fundamentally antithetical to how we as a species have lived for eons.

Because of this, it is important that we look for opportunities to be active and be outside whenever possible. Spending time in the great outdoors has a variety of unique benefits we may not even realize. In order to be at our best and healthiest, it is essential to get out, be active, and enjoy nature. So prepare your camping gear and outdoor accessories and set out on outdoor adventure!

Below, we'll discuss several benefits you and your body can enjoy by merely spending one weekend out in nature.

More Intimate Family Time

For those with spouses and children, spending a weekend outdoors can help reduce the technological isolation so many of us experience on a day-to-day basis. Through family activities such as camping and hiking, you'll be removed from the hectic modern world, and will be more reliant upon one another.

A weekend spent camping can present many opportunities for family bonding and athletic activities, both of which are hard to come by when living from day to day and cheque to cheque. If you need a family-sized tent to begin planning your weekend out, visit myfamilytent.com for recommendations.

Higher Vitamin Production

Being confined to indoor spaces with artificial lighting has a bigger impact on our bodies and minds than many know. One such impact is the level of natural vitamin production in our bodies.

One notable example is vitamin D. It is estimated that around 35% of people are lacking in vitamin D due to the indoor and sedentary lifestyle of modern living. Vitamin D helps our immune systems fight off illness and even has an impact on our mood.

By spending a weekend outdoors, your exposure to natural sunlight will result in a natural boost of this valuable vitamin.

Improved Exercise

While any kind of exercise is better than no exercise at all, a weekend spent in the great outdoors can yield even bigger benefits with outdoor exercise.

The natural conditions of outdoor settings result in us having to work harder when engaging in physical activities. Natural elements such as inclines, wind, and even temperature will push our bodies harder than the same activity would in an indoor setting, meaning that an identical exercise will burn more calories and increase strength more.

Better Mood

Finally, an entire weekend outdoors can leave you feeling refreshed and in higher spirits, thanks to the natural power of both sunlight and exercise. Even during colder and drearier months, the exposure to natural light and exercise has been shown to boost mood and even self-esteem. If you want to be sexy, look sexy and feel sexy without ever trying too hard, consider using True Pheromones everyday.

As little as a few minutes of outdoor presence has been shown to produce results, so an entire weekend in the great outdoors definitely is worth the effort if you're feeling gloomy. Escape rooms are also a great way to get out of your routine and have fun reconnecting to real people! Visit https://thesecretchambers.com/escape-rooms/rage-room/ to book a schedule today!

With notable benefits both for yourself and your relationships, planning a weekend outdoors could be just what you need. Whether you're ready to be in a better mood, get more exercise or enjoy close connections to people you care about, this form of activity is definitely worth planning.

Travel Opens Your Eyes & Promotes Happiness

Travel Opens Your Eyes

International travel can make a profound impact on those who yearn to see more and do more. But did you know international travel can actually promote happiness in the rest of your life? If you haven't traveled internationally yet, here are some good reasons you should take the plunge and explore new cultures.

Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

International travel will expand your comfort zone. While this might not sound like fun for some people, travel continually asks you to reevaluate your priorities. You will learn a lot about yourself when you travel. Backpack across Europe or drive the Australian coast. These experiences can show you more than you ever imagined and break you out of your zone. For instance, while in New Zealand, if you are thinking about things to do, then you might want to go bungee jumping (after all, the Kiwis invented it), something you thought you'd never do. You may also consider challenging yourself by trying an escape room. Traveling internationally can help you realize your true potential and self.

Disconnect

Disconnect from your everyday life. Re-energize your ambitions. Rekindle a spark for your professional life or romantic relationship. Distance gives perspective in all things. Sometimes this means metaphorical distance, but in this case, you might actually want to visit China, take one huge step back. This can help you look at any stressful situations back home objectively. Hike the Great Wall of China, visit Guilin for the best Karst landscapes and meet new and exciting people. Arrive home and tackle your life head on and recharged.

Surprise Yourself

While bungee jumping in New Zealand was an adrenaline rush, driving in a foreign country, like Great Britain, is much more dangerous. If you want mobility in your travels, then a car is your best bet. Make sure you know the rules of the road particularly which side of the road to drive on so you're international adventure isn't bogged down by costly traffic citations. When you navigate these bureaucratic agencies and finally set off on the road in England or Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, it's proof you can handle yourself in a foreign country. This confidence will carry over to your life back home once you return.

Acceptance

New cultures will constantly surprise you. It probably won't always be comfortable. Whether you find yourself at a horse barbecue in South Korea, served grubs or large grasshoppers in Thailand, or watch a family of seven all climb onto a single motorcycle while you're in Nepal, you'll find yourself accepting things you would have taken issue with just weeks before. When you can accept the way things are, instead of stressing about how you wish things were, you'll relax and simply go with the flow of life. You'll become more open to suggestions and so easier going.

Have Fun Anywhere

While travel has many rewards, it comes with its own bevy of stresses. Missed trains or flights are just the beginning. I try to get a private jet from Jettly so that I don't have to face the issues of missed flights. A mix up in lodge reservations can leave you without a bed for a night. A broken down train can mean you're stranded in the station overnight, and you'll learn and relearn the navigation of every place you visit. While this can be stressful, you'll learn you can enjoy anything. If you get lost when on the search for your hostel, you'll see some parts of the city you wouldn't have otherwise. A night spent in the train station might lead you to meet someone you'd never have enjoyed the company of if that train hadn't been delayed. You'll learn how you can enjoy every moment. Even the hard ones.

My Nashville Restaurant List

BBQ Plate

I'm adding this post more as a reminder to myself of the restaurants I'd like to be sure and visit now that we're in Nashville. Since my goal will be to share my experiences at the restaurants after I go to them, there are a few restaurants on here that I have already visited. Those will be noted and if I've written a review about them, I'll link to those.

If there's a restaurant you recommend that's not on the list, be sure and add it in the comments. If you happen to own a restaurant and you'd like me to add your location to my list, feel free to leave those suggestions in the comments as well.
