The Top 5 Motorcycle Songs

Motorcycle Touring

Music and motorcycles go together like peanut butter and jelly: they're good on their own but once put together they are like heaven. A good selection of songs to listen to when riding can really enhance a road trip and even help you to get more out of the experience. Sound good? If you're ready to make a playlist for your next trip, here are our top 5 motorcycle songs:

#5 - Byrds: Wasn't Born to Follow

Although this song isn't really about motorcycles, it is from the soundtrack from the movie Easy Riders, which makes it ideal for a long distance road trip. The lyrics to this song are ideal for those true free-spirited riders, who refuse to follow the crowd, and lead when they're on the road.

#4 - The Hondells: Little Honda

Although this is actually a song by The Beach Boys, The Hondells did a pretty good job of covering the song for them. And, since it is about a Honda, well that just makes it a great song for a motorcycle road trip. This song makes us think of riding a motorcycle being innocent fun back in the 60s. It also serves us a friendly reminder of how much the sport of motorcycle riding has grown since then.

#3 - Love and Rockets: Motorcycle

This song is all about the love of motorcycles so it is just fitting that it would make the list. It is more about the motorcycle rider's feelings and how much they love their bike and riding in general. With the lyrics ‘I feel warm inside, on the motorbike, the wind is all around, on the motorbike, we are free', does anything more need to be said?

#2 - Wheels of Steel: Motorcycle Man

Motorcycle Man by Saxon is from the album Wheels of Steel, and was released in 1980. What better song to make a motorcycle list than this since you get to hear the engine roar of a motorcycle in it? The band who sings this song introduced everyone to the new wave of British heavy metal bands, and the song gives you a pure adrenaline rush making it the perfect tune for a long road trip.

#1 - Twisted Sister: Live to Ride, Ride to Live

This song is from Twisted Sister's 1983 album, You Can't Stop Rock and Roll. The lead singer of the band, Dee Snider is an avid motorcycle rider and has done many a ride to benefit his local food bank. You can't beat the motorcyclists who ride for charity!

Now that you know the top 5 motorcycle songs to listen to while riding your motorcycle, it's time to get some gear from your favorite motorcycle store NYC and plan your road trip. And when looking to buy used motorcycles, then you can check out this ninja 650 r for sale here for more info!

If you have Suzuki GSXR, the best way to improve the power and torque on the GSXR range is to fit a free-flowing exhaust system and have it professionally remapped by an expert from a reputable shop like Suzuki motorcycle tuning services. These songs are guaranteed to get your heart pumping and your adrenaline going once you hit the gears on your sweet hog. There are, of course, more songs you can listen to but if you want to take the ultimate road trip on your bike, you can't beat any of the above.

More of My Travel Writings

Travel Trip A Mileage

A friend of mine recently asked for some suggestions about a family vacation in Orlando. Since I've been going to Orlando with my family at least once a year for about the last 5 years I figured I had some good ideas to share with her. I also remembered I had written about some of our adventures on a couple of other travel sites. I was trying to find those posts and discovered that they redesigned their site and my posts weren't quite as easy to find anymore. It's too bad, in the migration to the new site they broke all the images to the posts I had included.

So, here they are:

  • Our First "Just Family" Disney Vacation on Experience Kissimmee (12/07/2010)
  • Kennedy Space Center is Out of This World on Experience Kissimmee (12/13/2010)
  • Calling Comfort Suites Maingate Home on Experience Kissimmee (12/13/2010)
  • More to Do at SeaWorld Than You Thought on Experience Kissimmee (12/14/2010)
  • Gatorland is THE Place for Gators and Crocs on Experience Kissimmee (12/16/2010)
  • Giordanos and the Balloon Artistry of Carl Skenes Jr on Experience Kissimmee (12/16/2010)
  • The Meal Plan Is A Must Do at Disney on Experience Kissimmee (12/16/2010)
  • Our Top 5 Sit Down Dining at Walt Disney World on Experience Kissimmee (12/17/2010)
  • Take Advantage of Extra Magic Hours at Disney on Experience Kissimmee (12/17/2010)
  • What We Missed - We'll Be Back to Kissimmee! 0n Experience Kissimmee (12/17/2010)

Here's a post about one of our Spring Break adventures:

  • Spring Break Special: 8 States in 6 Days on Traveling With MJ (04/28/2010)

And another general travel one where I was interviewed by MJ for her travel blog:

The Bean Family Vacation is Well Underway

BnFamFL10-travel-mapWe've hit just over 800 miles and are now in Savannah, GA. It's a little chillier than we had expected, we are in the "South" right? Seems close to the South Pole at this point.

We've had a great time so far and seen some impressive things. We started off with a short stop in New Albany, IN so my sister-in-law could take our son to the Winter Wonderslam concert with Skillet and TobyMac for his birthday. From there we drove to Atlanta and visited the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coke Museum. Before we left town we had dinner with my niece, a freshman volleyball player at Kennesaw State University, at The Varsity, the world's largest drive-in restaurant and they've been asking "What'll ya have? since 1928.

We're visiting quite a few places and I'll be writing about our travels on a variety of different websites during our trip.

  • I'll have a review soon of my experience in Cobb County, GA on the Cobb County CVB website.
  • My first featured blogger post was just published on the i.seeKissimmee blog, that's where I'll be covering more of our experiences in things to do in the Kissimmee and Orlando area.
  • I'll have a post coming up soon on the Dads Talking website, there I'll discuss the challenge of being the dad and providing a family vacation.
  • The Family Traveler blog will share some of the fun we had as a family on our trip.
  • I'll have another featured post up on Traveling with MJ's site, where I shared about our family Spring Break trip this past year.
